Timothy of Gaza
- Zoologist who, at the beginning of the sixth century, wrote four derivative works on exotic fauna. One of them, entitled Indian Animals, exhibits, as does the work of another sixth-century author, Kosmas Indikopleustes (q.v.), the Byzantine fascination with India (q.v.).
